WONDERS OF DIVINE BLESSINGS III

DATE: SUNDAY 8TH APRIL 2018

THEME: WONDERS OF DIVINE BLESSINGS III

MEMORISE:
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. Jeremiah 33:6

READ: 2 Kings 20:1-11
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees:  nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

MESSAGE
Living a healthy life that does not require the attention of physicians is one of the wonders of divine blessings. Although it is commonly said that health is wealth, I am of the opinion that health is much more than wealth because a sickness can drain he entire wealth of a person and lead to penury within six months. I pray that no sickness, big or small, will plague your life or home in Jesus’ Name. A wealthy person who is equally healthy is very wealthy. For such a fellow, we can say that his or her cup is running over (Psalm 23:5). I have often said that while it is a good thing to be healed, to remain healthy is much more wonderful, but beyond these, you are super wealthy when incurable diseases are being brought to you and by the mere laying of your hands on the sick, they get healed. A person walking in this realm is extraordinarily blessed. So, what happens when someone is extraordinarily blessed? Not only will the forces of heaven and earth combine to support such a fellow, he or she will also command these forces to favour those whom he or she wants to be a blessing to. Because I am enjoying wonders of divine blessings by the grace of God, I decree over your life today: let the forces of heaven and earth begin to cooperate in support of that venture you have embarked upon in Jesus’ Name. In 2 Kings 20:1-11, Hezekiah was sick and God said he was going to die, but he cried to God that he did not want to die yet, and God granted his request. The Lord prolonged his life with fifteen more years. In other words, he was healed and became wealthy in health. God also caused the shadow of the sun to return backwards by ten degrees as a sign to indicate this wonder. In other words, the sun cooperated with Prophet Isaiah when he decreed that it should go backward to bring to pass the wonder of recapturing fifteen years already spent by Hezekiah. This is an even greater feat than when Joshua commanded the sun and the moon to stand still (Joshua 10:13).

In Genesis 27:1-4, Isaac told Esau to prepare his favourite so that his soul might bless him. This shows that divine blessings are provoked. You must do something in order to attract them into your life. In Malachi 3:10, God said “Bring all the tithes into My house, and I will replace every curse with a blessing.” Elisha had the opportunity of asking Elijah what he wanted because he had been a faithful servant to him. Anyone who wants to be blessed by God and is willing to pay the price would surely be blessed. If you are a sinner, what God requires from you is to give your life to Christ. If you are a child of God, search the scriptures and you will discover that those who were divinely blessed were ardent worshipper and generous givers. Go ahead and follow their examples.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please give me the heart of a worshipper and make me a generous giver in Jesus’ Name.

WONDERS OF DIVINE BLESSINGS II

DATE: SATURDAY 7TH APRIL 2018

THEME: WONDERS OF DIVINE BLESSINGS II

MEMORISE:
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Psalm 23:5

READ: 1 Kings 17:4-6
4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

MESSAGE
Believe it or not, some people are afraid blessings! Some prefer to be “average” rather than to be super-rich, because they believe wealth will either cause them to backslide or make them vulnerable to spiritual and physical attacks. These are wrong mindsets. Many years ago, while pondering on Psalm 23:5, I wondered why the ‘waste’ of blessings by pouring more into a cup that is already full. I heard the Lord say to me, “It is for Me to show My extraordinary sufficiency.” Hallelujah! One of the wonders of divine blessings is that God can use anything or anyone to make His provision available to you if you are His candidate for divine blessings. In 1 Kings 17:4-6, God sent ravens to bring food to Elijah twice a day. One of the astonishing part of this story is that ravens are known as flesh eaters. The question then is: how come they did not eat up the meat before getting to Elijah? It would have been understandable if sheep were the couriers in this regard. The truth of the matter is that when a person is divinely blessed, both the forces of heaven and earth will combine to assist the fellow. This was the case of the children of Israel in the wilderness. The wind brought them quails to eat and the rock produced water for them to drink (Psalm 195:40-42). I have often taught my children in church that whenever they embark on a venture and they realise that they always have to struggle so much to make ends meet, they should check back with God to know whether He is in that venture.

Matthew 17:24-27 offers a classical example of divine blessing. To pay their taxes, the Lord instructed Peter to go and catch a fish, open its mouth and pick a coin from it, the value of which would be sufficient to offset their tax bill. My firm belief is that there is a river near you with a fish inside it holding the right amount of money that you need in its mouth. This fish is just waiting to be caught by you. The ‘fish’ may be that fellow yearning for salvation, or that person who needs spiritual help so much. When you win him or her to Christ, everything you need may already be there in their hands, and the Lord will just move them to release it to you. As I studied the wealth of Solomon, I asked myself where his wealth came from. Then I saw in 2 Chronicles 9:13-14 that his wealth came from all the kings of Arabia and from the governors of other lands. Even the Queen of Sheba joyfully brought her wealth to him (1 Kings 10:1-10). Such is the wonder of divine blessings. I decree upon you today: you will be divinely blessed, and your days of struggling to make ends meet are over in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, You said I should continue to ask until my joy is full, and so I ask in Jesus’ Name that You divinely bless me until poverty becomes alien to me permanently.

WONDERS OF DIVINE BLESSINGS I

DATE:  FRIDAY 6TH APRIL 2018

THEME: WONDERS OF DIVINE BLESSINGS I

MEMORISE:
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: Deuteronomy 28:12

READ:  Genesis 12:1-3

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

MESSAGE
When the Lord commanded Abraham to get out of his country, away from his kindred and out of his father’s house to go to a land that He was yet to show him, little did Abraham know that he was being set up for divine blessings. God promised him that He would make him a great nation, bless him and make him a blessing. This promise straightaway introduces us to the wonders of divine blessings. How can a man considered barren become a great nation? The answer lies in divine blessings.

When you take a critical look at God’s promises to Abraham in today’s Bible reading, you will discover that when a man is divinely blessed, his friends are also blessed, and conversely, his enemies are in trouble because they will be divinely cursed! Divine blessings will be your portion today in Jesus Name. When a fellow is divinely blessed, it means the blessings are not a result of struggling. Those who don’t know this or who have not experienced divine blessings before will always think that unless you struggle to the point of breaking your back, you cannot make it in life. This could not be further from the truth! That notion belongs to the realm of the curse of the first Adam which all the children of God through the second Adam, Jesus have escaped from. There was a brother of ours who received a divine blessing, and when he told others about it, they found it too good to be believed. One of them even said “This is too good to be genuine!” one of the wonders of divine blessing is that it makes people amazed, even to the point of disbelief. How could Abraham who started as a wanderer become so blessed that he could kill a whole calf to entertain a group of casual visitors numbering only three (Genesis 18:7)? Here is the testimony of Abraham’s servant to the extent of his master’s blessing in Genesis 24:35:

“And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.”

Heaven will assist a man or woman that is divinely blessed by sending what je or she needs in due session (Deuteronomy 28:12). I pray for you, that whatever represents rain in your life will fall on you today in Jesus’ Name. However, you must be a friend of God like Abraham, walking with God in complete obedience to make this a reality in your life (Genesis 17:1).

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please let heaven assist the works of my hands, and grant me access to Your divine treasures in Jesus’ Name.

THE HEALING WORD

DATE: THURSDAY 5TH APRIL 2018

THEME: THE HEALING WORD

MEMORISE:
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20

READ: 2 Kings 5:8-12
8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel?  may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

MESSAGE
I have a challenge with some of my spiritual children, and it has to with their lack of faith in the infallible word of God. Although they profess to believe in the word of God, their actions and responses to God’s word plainly shows unbelief. After standing on the altar of God to minister powerful words from God for their deliverance, some of them show their doubt and unbelief by insisting on meeting with me face to face in my office to lay my hand on them before they would be delivered. This is disheartening, and I pray that God will make such people understand the power in His word from today onwards. Every word from God is full of power, and even the written word in this devotional is power-packed. Blessed are those who believe this. Many of these children of mine are like Naaman who expected Prophet Elisha to perform spiritual acrobatics on him, just like many “deliverance ministers” are doing today. Beloved, I am telling you this emphatically today: there is healing in the word of God! The Holy Spirit says this so clearly in Psalm 107:20:

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Note the words that He used: “He sent his word”. He Himself did not leave His throne, He only sent His word and the word did the healing. Praise the Lord! I am sending the word of God to a person in need of it today, saying “Be healed in Jesus’ Name.”

In line with the pattern of the Spirit’s operation in today’s Bible reading, there is something you must do for the healing word to do the Lord’s bidding in your life: you must wash! You must wash, not in River Jordan seven times, but in the Blood of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. Sickness as you well know is an agent of death, and so your sins need to be washed away for you to obtain healing through the word. 1 John 1:8-9 says:

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Beloved, the above scripture is the healing word that the Lord is sending to you today, irrespective of the number of years you have spent in your walk with Him. Do you believe it? The healing we are talking of today is not on physical; it is also spiritual, material, financial, marital, intellectual, and all-encompassing. In whatever are you need healing today, by the word of the Lord I say to you, be healed in Jesus’ mighty Name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, I believe Your word; please heal me totally today in Jesus’ Name.

TIME TO SHOW YOUR FACE

DATE: WEDNESDAY 4TH APRIL 2018

THEME: TIME TO SHOW YOUR FACE

MEMORISE:
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. Isaiah 60:1

READ: 1 Kings 19:1-19
1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.

4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:

12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus:  and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay:  and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

MESSAGE
Hiding our identity or deliberately putting ourselves in obscurity does not serve our interest or that of our Father in heaven. Some people misrepresent by thinking that being extremely introverted is a Christian virtue. Going by the command in today’s memory verse, this is not so. Some said the reason why the conjunction ‘and’ is not found between the words ‘arise’ and ‘shine’ in Isaiah 60:1 is because the rising and the shinning form a ‘simultaneous equation’. The rising presupposes a prompting to shine at the same time. In other words, there is no time lag between your rising and your shinning. A failure to shine while rising has certain implications. When you rise, the Lord knows that your light has come and that He has bestowed His glory upon you. It then follows that if you refuse to shine while the glory of the Lord is arisen upon you and your time passes away, you would have failed God and missed a great opportunity He gave you. May you not miss your opportunity in Jesus’ Name. Our Lord Jesus Christ in John 9:4-5 said:

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

This statement should bring to your remembrance that a time will come when Christians will no longer be in this world. Therefore, it is time for us to show our faces. We children of God have been in hiding for too long a time; we must now show ourselves in the areas of education, commerce, politics, the military, transport, agriculture, science and technology, and in all other sectors of life. God needs His children to serve as lights everywhere. The good thing is that the time He wants us to do this is now. For this reason, I told my children during our annual thanksgiving service at the Redemption Camp that they should become active members of the political associations of their choice.

In today’s Bible reading, we see how Elijah the prophet exhibited cowardice just after his exploits for God on Mount Carmel. Because he was afraid of Jezebel, the powerful queen, he ran for his life and hid in the wilderness. After encountering God on Mount Sinai, the Lord commanded to continue his assignment as prophet. 1 Kings 19:15a says

“And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus:”

In other words, he should hide no more. He had to show his face and complete his assignment as the prophet of God. Hiding our faces as children of God cannot help this generation. Some of us exhibit cowardice and are reluctant to face up to this challenge. We must show our faces by confronting ungodliness in all spheres of life if we will make meaningful impact in our generation.

ACTION POINT:
Study the characteristics of a city set on a hill, light and salt (Matthew 5:13-16), and begin to exhibit these characteristics.

HYMN 16: STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS

1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
Ye soldiers of the Cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From vict'ry unto vict'ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict
In this His glorious day!
Ye that are men, now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone:
The arm of flesh will fail you;
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer,
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor's song
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He, with the King of Glory

Shall reign eternally.

BRINGING DOWN HIS GLORY

DATE: TUESDAY 3RD APRIL 2018

THEME: BRINGING DOWN HIS GLORY

MEMORISE:
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. Acts 16:25

READ: 2 Chronicles 5:1-14
1 Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.

2 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

3 Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.

4 And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.

5 And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

6 Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

7 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:

8 For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

9 And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.

10 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:

12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

MESSAGE
Do you know that the glory of the Lord makes the impossible possible? Indeed, the glory of God breaks Satan’s bars of iron and demolishes anything that represents the walls of Jericho in the life of a believer in Christ. One way to attract God’s glory is through worship. If you need any form of breakthrough in life, spend time worshipping God. However, you must learn how to worship God correctly. Before you can worship God, you need to know Him. In today’s memory verse, we read about how God’s glory came down in the prison yard through intense worship rendered by Paul and Silas, two men who knew their God. Instead of being engrossed in self-pity, they sand high praises to God, worshipping Him for counting them worthy to experience the fellowship of Christ’s suffering. No wonder Paul wrote in Philippians 3:10:

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”

The result was God’s glory coming down into the prison yard, shaking the prison to its very foundations and loosing the chains with which they were bound. When a man or woman carries the glory of God, there is absolutely nothing that will be impossible to him or her, because God’s glory is synonymous with His power.

In today’s Bible reading, it is amazing that in spite of the meticulous setting of all the liturgical materials, and the orderly procession of the Levites and priests, God’s glory did not come down until the Levites who were singers led the congregation of God’s people in intense worship. 2 Chronicles 5:13 says,

“It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;”

Beloved, I want to encourage you to be an ardent worshipper of God because it is good and blessed to do so. However, I want you to know that when a sinner brings a sacrifice of worship to God, God does not receive it because the sacrifice of a sinner is an abomination to Him (Proverbs 15:8). So if you are not yet born again, surrender your life to Jesus today, and this will qualify you to be an acceptable worshiper of the Almighty Father.

ACTION POINT:
Devote quality time to personally worship God today, and the results will be amazing.

Sinners will soon be forgiven
Prodigals will come home soon.

Chorus:
Shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
Rivers in desert now flowing
Halleluyah to our king.

2. We will soon shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
Sickness and sorrow will be gone
Bondage will be forgotten.

3. We will soon shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
The barren will be fruitful soon
Failure will be forgotten

4. We will soon shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
Poverty will be forgotten
Stagnancy will soon be gone.

5. We will soon shout Hallelujah
Because God will do new things
To all miracles are given
There shall be celebrations

6. We will soon shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
Many will have testimonies
Of prayers answered fully

7. We will soon shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
One of us will chase a thousand
Two will conquer ten thousand.

8. We will soon shout Halleluyah
Because God will do new things
Songs of praises we will sing

Halleluyah to our King.
